Nina Ricci Phileas

Ricci released this leather chypre in 1994. Vegetal from the initial spray, Phileas has a celebrated celery note like that of Yatagan, but IMO Ricci does it just a little better. Of course, my opinion is subjective, but it's amusing to see how similar the accords are in both of these fragrances.

Spiced citrus with berry and green open Phileas and lend that herbaceousness to it. This is a well done herbal aura. The entire composition is "brighter" than the Caron. The heart is centered around spicy wood with thyme maintaining that green vibe through the patchouli and vetiver. It continues through the basenotes that are a fundamental leather variation. Phileas isn't well known outside of the aficionado circle and is unfortunately discontinued, but can still be found if you seek it. A very good offering from Nina Ricci.
