Black Walnut was released in 2006 and created by Harry Fremont. I only find 3 listed notes and while linear can sometimes be a terrific thing, a fragrance can only achieve that if the ingredients utilized are of very high quality and possess a superior balance.
This is not to be with Black Walnut. This is an econo-frag for sure and contemporary due to the synthetic aura this scent gives off. The listed accords are Cognac, Tobacco and Virginia Cedar. Theoretically, this could have been a very good and simplistic rendition of these notes, but the quality is lacking and its lack of sillage & longevity are disappointing.
Black Walnut isn't unpleasant. It's simply uninspiring and lethargic. The cedar is dominant on me from the onset, but I know of much better cedar masculines are out there to be worn. I'll pass on this one.
Hey! Nice to see you back.
ReplyDeleteI smelled a number of the Banana Republic fragrances in Miami last summer. To be fair to them, I didn't give them much thought, as the SA's wouldn't leave me alone, but none of them leaped out at me as something truly special and worth owning.
I can't remember any of them individually, which isn't a good thing. I've changed my mind on fragrances I've hated, but never ones I've just found forgettable.
Hi Galamb. That quote is so good, it should be in your signature !
