Bergamot, Pepper, Lavender, Musk, Woods. Having already reviewed St. Barts, I am compelled to bring it up due to the similarities both of these fragrances exhibit. They have the same genetic makeup with a mild tweak here and there. Martinique is St. Barts with a more peppery flavor and slightly heavier wear. For me to own both ( and I do ) is a redundancy owed primarily to both being priced so low that I could not stop myself from adding it to my cart at the local TJMAXX. Am I disappointed? No, I'm not because as similar as they are, they'll both get worn in the spring and summer months. While doing a side by side, I noticed that by the time the heart accord commences, Martinique is a tad denser. Maybe even more accurate would be to say that St. Barts is a bit brighter. Lime, Musk. Guava Nectar, Blue Agave. Vanilla, Musk, Palm Tree. For someone who doesn't normally lean toward aquatic/marine, I find myself choosing to wear Set Sail St. Barts more frequently than I thought I would. It possesses the aquatic aspect, but doesn't go down the same road as most in this genre. I believed it would........especially with musk listed twice.........but it sets itself apart by exhibiting a zesty, unique character, coupled with a "downwind and outdoors" quality. Now, do I know what Guava Nectar, Blue Agave or even Palm Tree smell like? Gimme a break...........I'm born and raised in Philly, so I'm well versed in Cheese steaks, bagels with cream cheese and soft pretzels. In truth, I could care less what those notes actually consist of since the totality of St. Barts is fresh, substantial and slightly tangy. A pleasant wear is a pleasant wear no matter the content. Bergamot, Pepper, Ginger, Coriander, Patchouli, Amber, Musk. I have recently become reacquainted with Tommy Bahama for Men. It's been on the market for 7 years now and I've noticed it being sold very cheaply and ( with some sellers )  rather vigorously as of late. It seems to be a maligned fragrance and that's too bad. I reviewed this masculine a few years ago and liked it. I've concluded that I like it even more now, although I don't consider it terrific or groundbreaking by any stretch. It quietly smells very nice, extremely woody and practices good manners to boot. When I first came across it, I wrongly assumed it was aquatic due to the packaging. Tommy Bahama is a woody accented with spice and earth tones. I imagined water, the sun, citrus and I guess you can say an "unremarkable" fragrance. I got something else entirely.
