L'Homme Sage by Parfums Divine

Saffron, Mandarin, Cardamom, Lychee, Balm, Aromatic Woods, Immortelle, Patchouli, Oak, Moss, Amber, Incense. I've reviewed this fragrance before, but since I can't retrieve it and the fact that I like it better this time around, I shall go another round with L'Homme Sage by Parfums Divine. Overall, this masculine really doesn't break any new ground ( aroma-wise ) and it does possess similarities to a few others that implement similar note progressions. It does however embody clean spice and an impressive longevity factor. You will be able to smell this 24 hours later with no problem as an enjoyable skin scent. There's a balsamic powder quality that can possibly be misconstrued as something other than perfume. I'm referring to certain talc, lotion or even antiperspirant. I suppose it leans innocuously clean. L'Homme Sage opens with a smooth blast of camphor infused Saffron and Cardamom. This is balsamic, spicy, aromatic and it already possesses an u...

Well my dear.......it's simply DIVINE !!!

Some time ago I received a sample of a fragrance called l'âme soeur by Parfums Divine as a gift in a perfume swap. It took me a while to try, but when I did I was absolutely astounded!! I couldn't believe that I had never heard of this French niche house before ... and what was coming off my arm was sheer heaven. I ordered their sample coffret and so began a really plush little journey into the olfactive art of Yvon Mouchel, créateur de DIVINE. From the outset, the experience has been one of absolute class and efficiency. The fabulous Aurélie (le service Clients DIVINE) kept me up to date with the status of my order from the time that I placed it to the time it left their offices to wing it's way to me. Postage was super fast (I waited less than a week from France to South Africa ... unheard of!!) and when I opened the outer box what greeted me inside was a superbly and securely gift wrapped parcel of elegantly presented samples. Who takes the time these days t...

L'Homme de Coeur by Parfums Divine

I had to wear this a few times in order to get it. The opening kept throwing me off as to what exactly I was smelling. I wore it the first time without analyzing it, then subsequent wearings forced me to concentrate. The opening of L'Homme de Coeur is slightly alcoholic with some herbal-woody tones to it. It's not herbaceous in the conventional sense, but it's there alongside the wood. Only a moment or two later, a musk integrates itself into the accord and this is what was causing me to focus. It wasn't until 5 minutes into the wearing that it dawned on me that angelica was the reason for not only the herbal tone but the musk. I cannot say that this rendition of Angelica is a very good one. I use Fendi Uomo as my measuring stick, which may or may not be fair, but that's life. The implementation in L'Homme is fair at best. The problem I have with this fragrance ( overall )  is that I get minimal projection, fullness or longevity out of it. With EDP's, I ...
