Two things stand out to me after wearing Balenciaga Pour Homme over the years. One is how utterly dense this fragrance is. If rich food can give someone the gout, then it's lucky for us that Balenciaga isn't edible. This wears as heavy as a primer coat of liquid armor. The second thing noticeable
is the musclebound, spicy carnation at the very heart of Balenciaga. This composition uses a few different wrinkles, yet manages to come off as "Kouros Mini Me" sans the animalics.
Am I hating here? Quite the contrary as I love this stuff. This is a "no holds barred 1980's throw out the rulebook" type of creation. It's nocturnal and semi-brooding. Conventional daytime society would be hard pressed to gravitate toward the mantra of Balenciaga. This is best kept for prowling powerlovers and the utter ruin of their prey.
The opening of Balenciaga Pour Homme is truly a cacophony propelled onto your skin. Thick and palpable, this can be tasted in your throat and has a haute concentration vibe to it the entire ride. For those who live for and only wear scents like the Mecheri line, Balenciaga will compel you to have a defibrillator within reach.
I do not doubt for one second that every single note listed ( plus some others ) are in here percolating, bubbling and churning. This is a heady brew and I don't even want to take the time and describe the transitions. This kicks the proverbial ass and you'll simply have to take my word for it........or........go try some for yourself.
Sillage is extremely good and it's been said that the first person to ever spray Balenciaga on skin can still detect it today. A humble thumbs up from Aromi for the dark cocktail known as Balenciaga Pour Homme.
